At the headquarters of the International Chamber of Commerce (ICC) in Paris, the Vice Chair of ICC Ukraine for dispute resolution, investment protection, and advocacy, and Chairman of the Arbitration Commission of ICC Ukraine, Oleh Malynievskyi, held a working meeting with Claudia Salomon, President of the International Court of Arbitration.
The meeting was also attended by Mary Kelly, ICC Director for National Committees and Membership, Global Partnerships and Development, as well as other ICC representatives responsible for dispute resolution.
During the discussions, the parties addressed:
- expanding opportunities for international arbitration and ADR in Ukraine;
- strengthening the role and presence of the ICC International Court of Arbitration in Ukraine as an effective mechanism for resolving foreign economic disputes;
- increasing accessibility of international arbitration for parties involved in disputes related to Ukraine, including the possibility of introducing special conditions, particularly financial ones;
- developing arbitration mechanisms for disputes in the public sector;
- establishing quasi-arbitration mechanisms (working groups, task forces) for investor protection, mediation, and early ADR under the auspices of the ICC.
Special attention was given to enhancing guarantees for the protection of foreign investments in Ukraine through ICC instruments and the International Court of Arbitration.
The ICC International Court of Arbitration, established in 1923, is one of the world’s most authoritative institutions in the field of international commercial dispute resolution, and the ICC Rules are a global standard for international contracts.
Strengthening cooperation with the ICC headquarters in Paris is part of ICC Ukraine’s strategy aimed at developing a modern and effective dispute resolution system and increasing Ukraine’s investment attractiveness.
