“Freedom That Unites”: ICC Ukraine Representatives Attend Ukrainian-American Meeting on Ukraine’s Independence Day

On August 24, Ukraine’s Independence Day, ICC Ukraine representatives — Vice Chairs Volodymyr Klymenko and Oleh Malinevskyi — took part in the meeting “Freedom That Unites: Ukraine – USA,” dedicated to the 35th anniversary of Ukraine’s independence and the 250th anniversary of the independence of the United States.

The event brought together Ukrainian government representatives, the diplomatic corps, and American partners. Speakers included Lieutenant General (Ret.) Keith Kellogg of the U.S. Army, Tony Perkins, President of the Family Research Council, former U.S. Representatives Bob McEwen and Jim Slattery, Denys Uliutin, Minister of Social Policy, Family and Unity of Ukraine, Pavlo Unhurian, Co-Founder of the Ukrainian-American Partnership Platform, and Anna Mishchenko, Managing Partner of KSHDU.

The discussions focused on security, social policy, and the next steps in cooperation, including the development of social services, rehabilitation, inclusion of people with disabilities, support for families with children, and — most importantly — creating the conditions that enable people affected by the war to return to employment and independently provide for their families.

For ICC Ukraine, this is not only a humanitarian but also an economic agenda. Returning people to the workforce means providing the human capital needed for recovery. The Ukrainian-American partnership is working both to counter aggression and to build the state, while business is not merely an observer in this process, but an active participant.
