Dialogue between Business, Government, and the International Community: Event for Ukraine’s Entrepreneur’s Day
On September 5, a landmark event dedicated to Ukraine’s Entrepreneur’s Day was held, organized by the International Chamber of Commerce Ukraine (ICC Ukraine). The event became a platform for interaction between state institutions, representatives of large businesses, academics, and the diplomatic corps.
The event was supported by the Office of the President of Ukraine, the Accounting Chamber, the State Regulatory Service, and the Kyiv City State Administration.
Among the participants were leading national and international companies: Metinvest, Philip Morris Ukraine, Molokia, Asters, Armada, IC INGO, DTEK, MHP-Hromadi, MIDA, Douglas Alliance, Chernihiv Bread Plant No. 2. A special highlight of the event was the participation of Ukrainian Defenders, to whom participants expressed deep respect and gratitude.
The scale and significance of the event for the development and support of domestic entrepreneurs were demonstrated by the participation of ICC Ukraine’s regional offices—entrepreneurs and partners from across Ukraine came to Kyiv. This gave the event a truly nationwide character and emphasized the importance of business development in every region of the country.
Among the honored guests were rectors of leading educational institutions, representatives of the Ministry of Education and Science of Ukraine, the academic community, and representatives of diplomatic missions accredited in Ukraine. Special mention should be made of the participation of the Directorate-General for Servicing Foreign Missions.
In his welcoming speech, ICC Ukraine President Volodymyr Shchelkunov emphasized the role of Ukrainian entrepreneurs in supporting the economy and bringing Ukraine closer to victory:
“Today, Ukrainian business fulfills a dual mission—it holds the economic frontline while actively helping our soldiers and civilians. This demonstrates the strength of the entrepreneurial spirit, which is the foundation of Ukraine’s recovery and development.”
Head of the Accounting Chamber, Olha Pishchanska, highlighted the crucial role of entrepreneurs’ efforts in ensuring economic resilience during wartime, noting: “It is necessary to support those who fill the state budget.”
The event program included the presentation of ICC Ukraine awards and distinctions in various categories: international relations and partnership, international standards and contracts, innovation and contribution to the development of the national market (“Leader of the National Market”), as well as acknowledgments from the Armed Forces of Ukraine, the State Regulatory Service, the Orthodox Church of Ukraine, and the Kyiv City State Administration.
In his concluding remarks, Secretary General Oleksii Kozhanov noted:
“Today we honored not only entrepreneurship as a phenomenon—we honored people. All the awards and distinctions you received today are not just symbols of achievement. They are markers of the great path we have traveled together!”
The event reaffirmed that Ukrainian entrepreneurship, even during wartime, is the backbone of the nation’s economic resilience, a driver of international integration and partnership. The unity of business from the regions and the capital proves: a strong economy begins in every corner of the country.
Partner support was provided by PJSC “Ukrainian Helicopters,” Flash Web, and the Academy of Human Resources Potential.
The refined atmosphere of the event was complemented by the support of wine partner TD “Wines of the World.”
