    ICC will be organizing a conference on the new EU rules on Access and Benefit Sharing “Working out ABS: preparing to comply with the new EU Access and Benefit Sharing Rules (ABS)” on 24-25 November 2014 in Paris. This event will be held under the auspices of the ICC Commission on Intellectual Property.

    Synopsis

    The Conference will discuss implementation of this new and little understood EU regulation which will come into force on 12 October 2014and the significant new obligations it will place on companies and organizations utilizing genetic resources (GRs) in their research and development (R&D). It will also offer a forum for these companies and organizations to discuss their sectorial challenges and best practices, not only cross-sectorially but also with representatives from national agencies and the European Commission.

     

    Audience

    This one-and-a-half day event will be attended by and especially tailored to the needs and interests of executives working in R&D, compliance, legal practice, supply chains and sourcing for companies which manufacture, develop and/or distribute products based on GRs. It will include presentations, round table discussions and group exercises.

     

    Promotion
